In short

  • An AI persona cannot get the Meta blue tick under its own name and face. Meta checks the profile name against your legal ID and the profile picture against your video selfie.
  • You can subscribe to Meta One without passing verification. Only the badge and impersonation protection depend on it.
  • For a persona account the useful part of Meta One Advanced is links: clickable links in up to 4 posts and 4 reels a month, from $49.99 a month.
  • Getting a badge with false identity information can cost you the account. Instagram says it may disable accounts verified that way.
  • Meta has published nothing about verified badges on profiles with the AI-generated profile label.

An AI influencerAI influencer An AI influencer is an invented character whose photos, videos and captions are generated with AI instead of photographed. She is published, followed and monetised on the same platforms as a human creator. Read the full explanation cannot get verified on Instagram as the persona. Meta’s blue badge needs a profile name that matches your legal ID, and a reviewer compares your video selfie with the profile picture. A persona account shows neither. You can still buy Meta One without the badge and use its links in reels, scheduling and shared access.

Meta One went live worldwide on 15 September 2026, and the old question came back with it. Below is what Meta’s own help pages say about the badge, what that means for a persona, and which part of Meta One is worth money to you.

What Meta One is, and what each plan costs

Meta One is Meta’s paid subscription for Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp. It has two personal plans and four plans for businesses and creators. The creator plans are the ones with the badge.

Meta announced Meta One on September 15, 2026. The business and creator plans are Essential “starting at $14.99/mo”, Advanced “starting at $49.99/mo”, Expert “starting at $149/mo” and Max “starting at $499/mo”. Essential gives “a verified badge, verified channel on WhatsApp Business app, and impersonation protection”. Advanced adds “scheduling stories up to 30 days in advance, links in organic posts and reels”. Meta says “Plans, benefits, pricing, and availability may vary by region, by app, and by account.”

“Meta One is currently in limited testing and isn’t available everywhere yet.” Essential includes a “Link page: Add a shareable link page to your Instagram bio with up to 20 links”. Advanced includes “Shared access: Give up to four other people access to your Instagram account so that they can post content, reply to comments and more, without sharing your password” and “Advanced content scheduling on Instagram: Schedule stories up to 30 days in advance”.

So the plans you see in the app can differ from the table below.

Advanced$49.99 a monthLinks in 4 posts and 4 reels a month, shared access for 4 people, stories scheduled 30 days aheadNot for these features
Expert$149 a monthLinks in 8 posts and 8 reels a month, shared access for 8 peopleNot for these features
Max$499 a monthLinks in 12 posts and 12 reels a month, shared access for 30 peopleNot for these features

Prices are Meta’s “starting at” prices from the launch post. The features come from Meta’s help page “About Meta One plans”, read on 5 October 2026.

Can an AI influencer get verified on Instagram?

No, not as the persona. The badge is tied to a real person’s identity, and Meta checks the profile against that identity in two places: the name and the face.

Subscribers of the Essential, Advanced, Expert and Max plans “are eligible for a verified badge after your identity has been verified on your subscribed profiles”. “Both the verified badge and impersonation protection require passing verification. If we cannot verify your identity, these two benefits won’t be active.” “Verification is not required to subscribe to Meta One.”

Meta Help — About the verified badge for Meta One subscribers (opens in a new tab)checked

“Your verified profile name must match the legal name on your government-issued ID.” Some subscribers may use a different name that meets Meta’s naming standards, but “the new name needs to be similar to the name that you originally used when you signed up”. On Instagram you can change a verified profile picture once every 3 days and the profile name twice every 14 days, and changes are reviewed before they show.

Meta Help — Profile editing restrictions for Meta One verified badge holders (opens in a new tab)checked

That is the name. A persona has its own name, and it is not the name in your passport. The face is the second check. Meta One’s pages do not describe how the identity check works. The Instagram help pages for Meta Verified, the older subscription that also sells the blue badge, do:

The ID must “Have a photo that shows your full face clearly” and “Have a name that matches your profile name or meets Meta Verified naming standards.” You may be asked for a video selfie: “A snapshot of the video is sent to human reviewers to compare it with the profile picture on your account.”

Instagram Help — ID requirements for Meta Verified creator subscriptions (opens in a new tab)checked

So the reviewer looks at the profile picture and expects to see the person on the ID. On a persona account the profile picture is the persona. To pass, you would have to put your own face and legal name on the account. Then it is your account with your face, and no longer a persona.

How Meta checks a badge, step by step. A persona account stops at the third and fourth steps, because the name and the face on the profile belong to the persona and not to you.

Can you get verified without your real name or your face?

Meta does not offer that route. Both checks are written into the rules, and Meta’s help does not mention an exception for creators who work under a character.

The free badge for famous accounts does not help either. Instagram also gives a badge to notable people and brands without a subscription, and it has its own rules:

For accounts not subscribed to Meta Verified, the account must be “Authentic: Represent a real person, registered business or entity” and “Notable: Your account must represent a well-known, highly searched for person, brand or entity.” “If you receive a verified badge using false or misleading information during the verification process, we will remove your verified badge and may take additional action to disable your account.”

The last sentence matters most. Using another person’s ID, or a photo that is not the persona’s real operatorOperator The person who runs an AI persona. The operator generates the content, posts it, answers messages and gets paid. Open the glossary, is false information. The cost is the account itself, not just the badge. Instagram’s Terms of Use say the same thing in general:

“You don’t have to disclose your identity on Instagram, but you must provide us with accurate and up to date information (including registration information), which may include providing personal data. Also, you may not impersonate someone or something you aren’t”.

Instagram Help — Terms of Use (opens in a new tab)checked

So running a persona without showing who you are is allowed. Claiming to Meta that the persona is a verified real person is not.

Can a business account verify the persona’s brand?

Not under a persona name. Meta also verifies businesses, but the name rule there points back to the ID of a real person.

“Your business asset’s profile name must closely match the name on your government-issued ID.” “If your business uses a trade name, DBA, or brand name that is different from the name on your legal ID, your profile name may be rejected.”

Meta Business Help — Profile name eligibility for Meta Verified business subscriptions (opens in a new tab)checked

A persona name is a brand name that is different from your legal name. Meta says such names “may be rejected”. It does not say they always are, and it does not say what happens when a registered company carries the persona’s name. Treat that as not documented, and do not pay for a plan in the hope of an exception.

What Meta One still gives a persona account

You can subscribe without the badge. The features that do not depend on the identity check are the ones that matter for growth. Use the figure to find what you are after.

What Meta One can and cannot do for an account that shows an AI persona, from Meta's help pages read on 5 October 2026.
What do you want from Meta One?
  • Not as the personaThe name must match your legal ID and the selfie must match the profile picture.
  • Not as the personaMeta only turns it on after a passed identity check, like the badge.
  • Yes, from AdvancedLinks in up to 4 posts and 4 reels a month. Meta ties this to the plan, not to verification.
  • Yes, from AdvancedShared access for up to 4 people, without sharing your password.
  • Yes, from EssentialA link page in the bio with up to 20 links.

“Eligible public Instagram accounts with a Meta One subscription can add links to their posts and reels.” Advanced: “Up to 4 posts and 4 reels with links per month”; Expert: 8 and 8; Max: 12 and 12. “Posts and reels have separate monthly allowances”, unused links do not carry over, a caption is required to add a link, and “You can’t edit links after you’ve shared your post or reel.”

Meta Help — How to add links to your posts and reels on Instagram with Meta One (opens in a new tab)checked

Without Meta One, your clickable links sit in the profile and in the link sticker in stories.

“You can add up to 5 websites to your Instagram profile. Note: anyone, on or off Instagram, can see your websites.”

Instagram Help — Add a website to your Instagram profile (opens in a new tab)checked

A link under a reel puts the click where the viewer already is. For a persona that grows through reels, that is the real reason to look at Advanced.

Shared access is the other useful part. If someone helps you post or answer comments, they can work in the account without your password. AI OFM agency or solo explains why you never hand over the login itself.

Did Meta One show up in your persona account, and which plans did it offer? Ask it in #question-thread. Someone there has usually had the same problem.

Point it at your own landing page, not straight at FanvueFanvue Fanvue is a subscription content platform that officially allows AI creators and labels them as AI. Open the glossary. Fanvue gives the same advice for every link you post on social media, and Meta has rules for links to adult subscription sites.

“Never post a bare Fanvue link directly in a caption or comment. Always route through a bridge, like a link provider or a custom/tracking URL, or you risk getting your social account suspended.”

Fanvue Help — Getting Fans to Your Fanvue: Socials & Link-in-Bio (opens in a new tab)checked

Meta limits “the ability to view the content to adults aged 18 and older” for “Content that contains usernames, links to or logos of adult subscription websites”.

Meta Transparency Center — Community Standards: Adult sexual solicitation (opens in a new tab)checked

Meta does not say whether it counts Fanvue as an adult subscription website. You do not need to find out with a paid link. The landing page must still be honest, because Meta’s spam rules cover where a link leads:

Meta does not allow “Cloaking”, defined as “any attempt to circumvent our content policies by intentionally presenting different off-platform content, such as URLs or applications, to our integrity systems versus what is shown to users”, or “Deceptive redirect behaviour”, where a site “automatically redirects users to a substantially different domain without any user action”.

Meta Transparency Center — Community Standards: Spam (opens in a new tab)checked

So the page shows the same thing to everyone and does not jump to Fanvue on its own. Say on it that the persona is AI-generated, and say where the button leads.

Is Meta One Advanced worth it for an AI influencer?

Only if the links pay for it. Advanced starts at $49.99 a month and gives you eight clickable links: four in posts, four in reels.

Work it out before you subscribe:

  1. Take the monthly price. $49.99 is the US starting price. Check the price the app shows you.
  2. Take what one new fan earns you in their first month, after Fanvue’s cut. Use your own number from last month, not a hope.
  3. Divide the first by the second. That is how many extra paying fans the eight links must bring every month. If a new fan earns you $10 in the first month, you need five.
  4. Give each link its own tracking link. After one month you know how many fans came from the reel links, and you can stop or keep the plan.

The Fanvue payout calculator gives you the earnings per fan, and the funnel check shows how many people you lose between a click and a subscription. If your bio link already converts poorly, more links will not fix that.

What the sources do not say

Finding a Meta rule for a verified badge on an AI-generated profile

The obvious question is whether Meta lets a profile with the AI-generated profile label carry a verified badge. We looked for the answer and did not find one.

The Meta One pages (“About Meta One plans”, the badge page, the profile editing rules), the Instagram help pages for Meta Verified (eligibility, ID requirements, profile name rules), the Meta Verified business pages and Instagram’s announcement of the AI-generated profile label do not mention AI-generated profiles together with verification. You can check this yourself: search those pages for “AI”, “artificial”, “generated” and “persona”. The only hits on the Meta One pages are about the monthly AI usage allowance for image and video tools.

So the answer above comes from the general rules for name and face, not from a rule written for personas. If Meta publishes one, it goes into what changed, and when.

How the badge fits with the AI-generated profile label

The two do not depend on each other. The AI-generated profile label is the setting Instagram wants on every account that shows a generated person. The badge says Meta checked a real person’s identity.

“Creators who proactively add the AI-generated profile label will not see a change to their profile’s reach.” “Creators who don’t appropriately label their AI-generated profiles may see limits to their profile’s reach.”

Instagram Creators — AI-generated profile label (opens in a new tab)checked

The label is free, and leaving it off costs you recommendations. The badge costs money and is not available to the persona. If you have to choose where to put your effort, set the label first. The label matrix shows the matching label on every other platform, and the Instagram page collects every Instagram rule for persona accounts in one place.

Before you pay for anything, open Meta One in the app and check which plans it offers your account. Set the AI-generated profile label if it is not on yet. Then decide on Advanced with the four steps above, and give every link a tracking link from day one.

Questions people ask

Can an AI influencer get the blue tick on Instagram?

Not under the persona name and face. Meta wants the verified profile name to match the legal name on your government ID, and its Meta Verified help says a reviewer compares your video selfie with the profile picture. A persona account shows neither.

Can you get verified on Instagram without showing your face?

Meta does not offer that route. The ID must show your full face, and a snapshot of your video selfie is compared with the profile picture on the account. If the profile picture is not you, that check has nothing to match.

Can I buy Meta One for a persona account without the badge?

Meta says verification is not required to subscribe. Only the badge and impersonation protection need a passed identity check. The other features, such as links in reels and shared access, are not tied to it in Meta's help pages.

Is Meta One Advanced worth it for an AI influencer?

Only if eight clickable links a month bring you more than the subscription costs. Advanced starts at $49.99 a month and gives links in 4 posts and 4 reels. Measure the result with one tracking link per placement before you decide to keep it.

Can I verify the persona with a business account instead?

Meta's business rules do not help. The profile name must closely match the name on your government ID, and Meta says brand or trade names that do not match may be rejected.
