Article 50 in practice
People must see the AI label right away: the platform label, the top of your bio, and the image or video itself.
Why an invented character still counts
The EU Commission’s guidelines of 20 July 2026 treat a realistic AI person as a deepfake, even if no real person is shown.
AI markers in your files
The AI Act does not ban removing the C2PA data or watermark your generator adds. Keep it anyway, because platforms read it. A normal resize or re-encode removes it by default.
Platform rules and the law are separate
Following Instagram’s or Fanvue’s label rule does not mean you follow Article 50, and the other way round.
The one hard line
Nothing that looks underage. No prompt, stated age or disclaimer changes that.
